VERSION V4.3 The new method is to use the clean, pure XAN pixels to control the amount of light in the resulting video which gives an square "aura" like effect. The export-movie dialog now has three options: Pure pixel - Rendered pixel - Cancel. A new message box during movie export informs about pending exports and when they are finished. The "copy frame" button displays the actual frame number for easier orientation within the flow of time. The keyboard-dismiss file-name transfer and toolbox reposition is resolved and works the same way like the "Finish" button in V4.2. ACTUAL VERSION V4.4 Export clip toolbox function: If a MPG4 video already exists it is offered for looped playback. The available types (pure/rendered) are displayed and a tap on one of the two possible symbols will play the stored clip. This also informs you about existing clips you may overwrite. To go forward to the export dialog close this dialog with the cancel option (right box). Updated documentation (i - button) TOOLBOX It has three layers of functionality, forming an three by three by three cube. There is a overview of all functionality of the toolbox by tapping the "i" square. The three layers can be adressed by tapping the center square. The toolbox can be repositioned by dragging the center square. When you wish to be able to work fullscreen, the toolbox can be switched on and off by using the accelerometers, - by tilting the device away from you and then back. Please try and remember this important action at first, - it allows to create and explore without any disturbing screen element. CLIP HANDLING at the bottom of the third toolbox-layer. Please be aware that you might have a creation in the actual spacetime! If you want to save the actual spactime under the actual name, select "save" in the toolbox. This will REPLACE the actual clip file, - whatever there may be. If you want to load a clip now, - select "reload" in the toolbox. This will REPLACE the actual spacetime with the selected clip, - whatever there may be. Both functions ask for confirmation to avoid loosing any creation. Please look into "GALLERY" below for easy navigation of existing XAN clips. ACCELEROMETERS the toolbox switching action: TOOLBOX ON/OFF BY TILTING your device (iPad/iPhone/iPod) AWAY FROM YOU in normal landscape working position and then BACK. The second mapped function is mapped on tilting the device left / right in normal landscape working position. This functionality is dependant on the state of the time navigation: If XAN is in PLAY mode, tilt left reduces the playing speed and tilt right increases the playing speed. The increase / decrease step is controlled by the amount of tilt. When the tilt is around ninety degrees left the play mode will be stopped. A tilt around ninety degrees right switches to play mode. There is a "dead zone" where this function is not enabled at approx. thirty degrees each direction. If XAN is in FRAME mode, tilt left steps to the previous frame and tilt right steps to the next frame. The increase / decrease step is exactly one and not controlled by the amount of tilt. A tilt around ninety degrees right switches to play mode. There is the same "dead zone" where this function is not enabled at approx. thirty degrees each direction. Use this during review frame by frame, but the real reason for this function is that it enables you to also work in frame by frame mode with the toolbox switched off. MOVIE EXPORT the shared iTunes folder and is enabled to share all creations via iTunes. Copy the resulting MPEG-4 clips via iTunes onto the Mac and import them into iMovie for further working with them. You will find the XAN app in iTunes by selecting your device and then "Apps" at the top menu. When you scroll down the page you should find the XAN app listed. Select the XAN app and you will become a directory of all XAN clips. Simply drag the wanted items to your Mac. This export is also one important step to free your artwork from any XAN dependencies. GALLERY Swipe to go forward if there is more then one page. The clips are selectable in the gallery. When you tap on a clip its name is shown in the toolbox. When you are not in presentation mode (see next paragraph) nothing more happens. The reason for this is to decouple the "reload" and "save" functions. Remember that you might have a creation in the actual spacetime. If you want to load this clip now, - select "reload" in the toolbox. It will REPLACE the actual spacetime, - whatever there may be. If you want to save the actual spactime under the actual name, select "save" in the toolbox. It will REPLACE the actual file, - whatever there may be. You may use this functionality to make versions, replace clips, etc.. PRESENTATION MODE or make a presentation, you will like to be able to navigate very fast and have the toolbox out of sight. The presentation mode switches the toolbox off and disables the editing. A tap anywhere on a clip opens the gallery. A tap on a active gallery element hides the gallery and plays the selected clip. If the gallery has more the one page, a short swipe anywhere goes to the next page. This is combineable with the accelerator mode: If you want to present the clips as they are, switch the accelerators off. If you want to play around with the playing speed, switch the accelerators on before you enter presentation mode. |
